Paul J. Raine is a Michigan attorney with an extensive background in technology and several years experience handling civil litigation and resolving mortgage foreclosure issues.  Mr. Raine has held technology related positions at Sprint Broadband Wireless, Charter Communications, the University of Michigan (Merit Network, Inc), Computer Sciences Corporation and the General Motors Research Laboratories.
 
Mr. Raine graduated from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law and was admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan in 1997.  For the past several years, Mr. Raine has immersed himself in litigation, litigation management, post-foreclosure eviction issues, landlord-tenant matters and resolution of real estate title issues.
 
State Bar Activities:
Mr. Raine serves on the State Bar Representative Assembly, the Standing Committee on Professional Ethics. and the Standing Committee on Technology.  He is also the past Chair of the Computer Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan (2005-2006) and the past Chair of the Standing Committee on Technology (2007-2008).
 
Teaching:
Mr. Raine is an adjunct professor of Computer and Internet Law at the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law. He teaches undergraduate and MBA level courses in Leadership and Ethics as an adjunct professor at Walsh College in Troy, Michigan.  He also teaches Business Law at the undergraduate and MBA levels at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan.
 
Community:
Paul Raine is the co-founder and past president of the Greater Detroit Free-Net.  While working full time and attending law school in the evening, Mr. Raine launched a free community based Internet service known as the Greater Detroit Free-Net.   The non-profit organization, formed in 1992, was run by volunteers and financed through donations.  During it's peak in 1994, the "GDFN" had over 9,000 registered users and was one of Detroit's first on-ramps to the Information Superhighway.
